Hi! Steffanie Mormino here!
Can I share a story with you?
Once upon a time I was a mom with 2 little boys. My husband and I wanted a 3rd child, but we wanted to also make a difference in this world some how. My husband mentioned adoption as an option. "Maybe we could help serve someone in need and be blessed with the daughter we are dreaming of".
I won't lie, That was a scary proposition at first. I didn't have fertility issues, so I was giving up the gift of carrying a child for this scary unknown world of adoption. I wrestled for months praying for God's will to be revealed to me, and one day it was. It hit me powerfully! We were parents to a daughter who was going to come to use through adoption!
Around that same time I taught myself to sew. I created a clutch to carry to a friend's wedding, and it was the talk of the evening. A friend mentioned I should sell them, which I thought was a terrible idea, until the never ending fees for adopting a child started rolling in. Sewing clutches to sell opened up a small way for me to cover some of the adoption expenses and allowed me to share our story and journey into this new world with others.
Fast forward 3 years and I was the mother of three beautiful children. 2 biological sons and my beautiful adopted daughter (who I was able to breastfeed BTW). I was living a dream life, but I was doing it with health issues and seeing health issues in my children.
I began educating myself on better ways to care for my family naturally. A plant based diet consisting of organic whole foods (I'm personally a huge raw foodist wannabe). I turned my front yard into a potager and learned how to care for our health needs with herbs and home remedies, then I discovered essential oils. Essential oils were like the bow that tied it all together! These oils were the key to having an easy alternative to everything, but there was one problem, I couldn't find a case to carry my oils in that truly made them a part of our everyday lives. They were being tossed and lost in the bottom of bags, and I wasn't using them to their full potential when they were so far out of reach. One day, after loosing my favorite oil, I had had enough. I sat down at my sewing machine and turned that little clutch that helped to bring our daughter into our lives, into an essential oils case.
I created a series of cases to meet my own needs and immediately knew I wanted to share this lifestyle with the world. I wanted other women, who were fighting to live a more natural lifestyle, to have access to my cases so they too could be prepared to handle the things this world throws at us naturally! No more feeling helpless when a little one gets a tummy ache while on the go, or suffering from unstable emotions that creep up during long stressful days.
The reality that I could not personally sew each case set in quickly so I went on a search for a way to have them created by others while still maintaining the highest handcrafted quality. I wanted Sew Grown to be a company that made an impact on the world. That is what lead us to STEPS. STEPS employs American's with disabilities and people in poverty who are working the steps to independence. These are people learning new skills and working to live empowered lives. It was the perfect fit for Sew Grown.

Our cases are padded and reinforced, so they protect essential oil bottles from becoming damaged. They are also designed in a way that if oil spills inside the case, it will not penetrate to the outside fabric and ruin the clutch.
That wooden tag serves a purpose!
Our wooden tags are handcrafted in the USA and act as a diffuser for your favorite scents. Just add a drop of essential oil directly onto the wooden tag and enjoy.
